Please. I took a little walk today. I do most days. Let me share some artifacts of the streets I traveled:

1.The elephant pays tribute to the memory of my mom; that’s a fitting symbol as in “the elephant never forgets.” 2.Cranes capture my imagination whenever I spot them. 3.I coveted this table; it would have come into my overcrowded home had I the means to schlep it. 4 through 8. As he passed me photographing these, the man asked “did you see a bird in there?”

At about this time, I promise myself not to succumb to the pull of the macabre. The rise of the undead, of pumpkin heads and skeletons is indigenous to the fall celebration. Trick or treat means candy-infused tummy aches to the young goblins. To older ones, it means decorating their steps with creepy.

But hey, how about these colors.
