In the nabe of AMNH.

Walk with me, but never in the shadow of T-Rex or Spinosaurus. Avoid the beasts of yore.

That is until you get to CPW and 81st to visit their simulations at the world renowned (AMNH) American Museum of Natural History.

Where to?

I admire the moxie when a little coffee bar sets up shop across from a Starbucks. This one uses a simple lure with the plainest of names. It calls itself Coffee. Ha! [Just “meh,” btw.]

My coffee trail reviews always stray away from the big chain. I’ve had to have a small change of heart recently.

It all started when my gorgeous friend D gave us gift cards. Her note said, “Enjoy something sweet or savory….”

Savory generally gets my attention, so I walked into my local. Their brekkie Impossible sandwich has become a habit. It’s often washed down with a shaken espresso. The air conditioning is great.

A New York City Stew

What foods would you like to make?

Uptown, it’s soul food and arroz con habichuelas.

To the west, it’s burgers and fries and squid appetizers.

The UES has attracted a Brooklyn Dumpling Shop to compete with Vanessa’s.

Midtown, it’s salads and soup or grilled cheese on rye.

Chelsea is gonna prove more haute and head to the Village for eclectic.

We can still find brisket or lox on the Lower East Side when we’re not getting full-on Italian fare.

Peking duck? Why not head over to Chinatown now.
