A potpourri

As I passed the corner (York & 82nd), I remembered that I had looked up the connection and the reason for the plaque.

Harper Lee, author of To Kill A Mockingbird, definitely a writer from the South, kept an apartment at 433 East 82nd, which went on the market 6 years after her death. In 2022, it was listed for just over $3100.


Other things I have come to know:

Isn’t it refreshing to think of this tree as a natural redhead? I recently heard or read that the fall foliage we think of as a change is actually a reveal. These are the leaves true colors.


So sorry! This spells trouble for these tenants just as heating season hits.


Where there once was…

The site at 74th and York was home to an Episcopal Church. It moved to 73rd off 1st, where the Jan Hus Church was

Ground broke many months ago for new housing for WCM students. I was privileged to attend the ceremonial groundbreaking at Sotheby’s today.
